The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum is a contemporary art museum at Michigan State University.
The Transported Man exhibition is inspired by a magic trick described in Christopher Priest’s 1995 novel The Prestige. The spectator of a magic trick wonders what happened in the ineffable moment when a magician disappears and reappears at the other side of the stage, in the same way a viewer might wonder what happened when a piece of soap, a mirror, or a shoe reappears as a sculpture.

Cup of Tea
Working with The Bailey Tea Project, a student run business at Michigan State University, branded tea bags were sold at the museum gift shop. Each tea bag was categorized after the three stages of a magic trick: the pledge, the turn, and the prestige, but were also branded inline with the museums brand guidelines.
